Barbara Lewis holds a Certificate in Botanical Illustration and a Certificate in the Anne-Marie Evans Watercolor Painting Program, both from the New York Botanical Garden. Her work is included in the permanent collection of the Hunt Institute for Botanical Documentation and has been shown in exhibits of the American Society of Botanical Illustrators and the Guild of Natural Science Illustrators, and is included in many private collections. The flowers, pumpkin, and squash were painted from life in watercolor on Arches Hot Press paper. The bowls of fruit were painted from life in oil on board.
